Miklagård was co-founded by two friends, Isabella Elfwendahl Jakobsson and Nilüfer Troeller. They both shared a passion for textiles and had the aspiration to offer the best of the Turkish and Swedish culture, two vast different cultures. Today, Miklagård is owned by Isabella Elfwendahl Jakobsson and the vision to mix the two cultures is still there

As the child of a diplomat, Isabella had an international childhood. She has a tailor certificate, including studies in patternmaking, painting and weaving and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. Isabella has worked with sales, as a project manager, production manager, and teacher.

The relationship between Sweden and Turkey dates back thousands of years. The Vikings referred to present day Istanbul as Miklagård. What undoubtedly unites these cultures is their longing for, and love of the sea, sailing, the sauna and the hamam.
